Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the ScrewBolt ID mobile application ("App") or visiting screwboltid.com ("Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App or Site.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ScrewBolt ID ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the App you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
Service Description
ScrewBolt ID is a mobile application that uses camera-based image analysis and artificial intelligence to assist users in identifying fasteners including bolts, screws, nuts, and related hardware. The App provides:
- Camera-based fastener identification (Quick ID and Exact Mode)
- Thread pitch, diameter, tap drill, and clearance hole data
- Offline reference tables for standard fastener specifications
- An AI-powered fastener assistant chat feature
- Links to purchase identified fasteners from third-party retailers
- Project-based spec saving and management
The App is available on iOS and Android platforms. Features are available on a free tier with usage limits and a Pro subscription with unlimited access.
User Accounts
Some features of the App require you to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account and to keep your account information updated.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@screwboltid.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that have been inactive for an extended period.
Subscriptions & Billing
ScrewBolt ID offers the following subscription options in addition to a free tier:
- Pro Monthly — $4.99 per month
- Pro Annual — $29.99 per year
- Pro Lifetime — $49.99 one-time purchase
Subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store depending on your device. By purchasing a subscription you agree to the payment terms of the applicable platform.
Refunds: All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Refund requests are subject to the refund policies of the respective platform. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, contact Apple Support or Google Play Support through your device's app store.
Free Tier Limits: The free tier includes 3 Quick ID scans per day, 1 Exact Mode scan per day, 3 AI Chat queries per day, and a maximum of 1 saved project. These limits are subject to change with notice.
Price Changes: We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days notice before any price change takes effect for existing subscribers.
AI Accuracy Disclaimer
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Fastener identification results are provided for informational and convenience purposes only
- AI identification may be incorrect, especially for uncommon, damaged, worn, or partially obscured fasteners
- You should independently verify any fastener specification before use in safety-critical, structural, or load-bearing applications
- ScrewBolt ID is not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses arising from reliance on AI-generated identification results
- The AI Fastener Assistant provides general information only and does not constitute professional engineering advice
Always verify fastener specifications independently when the application involves personal safety, structural integrity, or where incorrect fastener selection could result in equipment failure or injury.
Affiliate Disclosure
ScrewBolt ID participates in affiliate advertising programs. When you tap a "Buy" link within the App or on our Site, we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.
Amazon Associates: ScrewBolt ID is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Our Amazon affiliate tag is screwboltid-20.
We also maintain affiliate or referral relationships with the following retailers:
- Home Depot
- Lowe's
- McMaster-Carr
- Grainger
Affiliate relationships do not influence our fastener identification results, product recommendations, or editorial content. We do not receive payment from manufacturers or retailers to feature specific products in identification results.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use ScrewBolt ID only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the App or its API
- Attempt to circumvent subscription limits or access Pro features without a valid subscription
- Use the AI Fastener Assistant to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers, infrastructure, or other users
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content without written permission
Intellectual Property
The ScrewBolt ID App, including its design, code, content, icons, logos, branding, and fastener specification database, is owned by ScrewBolt ID and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You retain ownership of any content you create within the App, such as saved projects and notes. By using the App you grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you.
Privacy
Your use of ScrewBolt ID is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Camera images submitted for identification are processed by our AI systems and are not stored permanently. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ScrewBolt ID and its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Personal injury or property damage resulting from use of App identification results
- Equipment failure resulting from use of incorrectly identified fasteners
- Costs of substitute goods or services
- Any damages arising from reliance on AI-generated content
In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if you have not made any payments.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ScrewBolt ID and its owners, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to ScrewBolt ID at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@screwboltid.com. Termination of your account does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees already paid.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the App or by email.
Your continued use of ScrewBolt ID after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
